A huge thank you to all the 8th grade parents, teachers, staff,
administration and alumni that helped make the 8th Grade Dance an
enormous success! The halls of Oak Grove were transformed into Chicago
as the Class of 2023 celebrated their Graduation and time together at
Oak Grove.
Carrying on this long-standing tradition would not have been possible without your support, contributions and time. The

Curriculum Corner
Curriculum Review Opportunity for Families
At the May Committee of the Whole meeting, information was presented to the Board of Education regarding curriculum pilots that occurred during the school year for social studies and science in grades 3-5 and a resource review for our new early childhood classroom. In accordance with Board Policy 6:45, resources will be available for stakeholder feedback and review May 22 through June 2 by appointment. Stakeholders will have access to samples of the curricular resource and be asked to complete a short survey. The Teaching and Learning department will review stakeholder feedback and present a recommendation to the Board of Education for resource adoption at the June Board of Education meeting. If you would like to view the presentation, please click here. To schedule an appointment to review resources, please contact Leslie Weber (weber@ogschool.org).
Literacy Curriculum Pilot
We are excited to share that during next school year, all grade levels will be piloting literacy curriculum from two publishers: Amplify and Great Minds. Both programs are research-based knowledge-building, structured literacy programs and were chosen by a committee of teachers across every grade level. The teachers are looking forward to implementing Amplify CKLA (grades K-5) and Amplify ELA (grades 6-8) during the first semester, followed by Great Minds Wit & Wisdom in all grade levels during the second semester. Next May, the teacher committee will provide input and recommend a program for adoption.
