We understand that it can sometimes be difficult to find the information you are looking for! Our early dismissal information is found on the transportation page, but we'd like to take this opportunity to remind parents on our procedures for picking up a child from school early.
EARLY DISMISSAL FOR INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS
If you need to change your routine for pick-up on any particular day, please follow the steps below:
1. Notify us in advance
Email your child’s homeroom teacher and ogsofficestaff@ogschool.org. Please include the reason for the early pickup.
2. When you arrive to pick up your child
When you arrive, call the main office at 847-367-4120. Office staff will have your child dismissed and sent out to your car.
3. Important timing note
We ask that all early pickups take place before 2:45 PM. After this time, buses begin staging and the parking lot fills with families preparing for regular dismissal, which limits our ability to safely manage early dismissals.
We ask that you email both your child's teacher and the office staff (ogsofficestaff@ogschool.org) by 2:00 pm. This ensures communications can be sent to staff and our bus drivers informing them of the change. You will receive a confirmation back from one of our office staff members when they have received your note. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please call the main office at 847-367-4120 to confirm.
We understand emergency circumstances occur, and if you must change your child(ren)'s routine past 2:00 p.m., please call the office directly, and they will notify your child(ren)'s teacher and the bus driver directly.
