Arrival & Dismissal

Important Safety Information 

1. Students are only allowed to enter and exit their car on the curbside. If you need to buckle your children in or load/unload backpacks through the trunk, please pull up to the north-most end of the car line. This avoids significant disruptions to the flow of traffic.

2. Please do not pick up your child(ren) until you have pulled all the way up to the car in front of you, leaving no large spaces between you and the next car. Large gaps between cars create longer pick-up lines.

3. Students are only allowed to enter or exit their car between the two crosswalks. Students are not allowed to exit their car early, near the JH gym.

4. No drop-offs or pick-ups are permitted in the lower lot because this location is dedicated to buses.

EARLY DISMISSAL FOR INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you need to change your child(ren)'s routine for pick-up on any particular day, please follow the step below:

1. Notify us in advance
Email your child’s homeroom teacher and ogsofficestaff@ogschool.org. Please include the reason for the early pickup.

2. When you arrive to pick up your child
When you arrive, call the main office at 847-367-4120. Office staff will have your child dismissed and sent out to your car.

3. Important timing note
We ask that all early pickups take place before 2:45 PM. After this time, buses begin staging and the parking lot fills with families preparing for regular dismissal, which limits our ability to safely manage early dismissals.

We ask that you email both your child(ren)'s teacher and the office staff (ogsofficestaff@ogschool.org) by 2:00 pm. This ensures communications can be sent to staff and our bus drivers informing them of the change. You will receive a confirmation back from one of our office staff members when they have received your note. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please call the main office at 847-367-4120 to confirm.

We understand emergency circumstances occur, and if you must change your child(ren)'s routine past 2:00 p.m., please call the office directly, and they will notify your child(ren)'s teacher and the bus driver directly.
