Social Emotional Learning in Grades 6-8

Homeroom teachers deliver SEL instruction on a regular basis using the Second Step program. Lessons are delivered during classroom meeting and during the IE block. Each grade level progresses through units that include age-appropriate lessons. The units in grades 6-8 are:

• Mindsets & Goals
• Developing a Positive Sense of Self
• Thoughts, Emotions & Decisions
• Managing Relationships & Social Conflict
