Make Sure You Receive Oak Grove Messages

Email whitelisting tips, plus how to opt in to school text messages.

Before you start, add these Oak Grove senders to your contacts and “safe sender” lists. Replace the placeholders below with our exact addresses if they differ.

Text Messages: Opt In Required

To receive school texts, you must be opted in. From the mobile number in your contact record, send:

  • Text YES to 79041

You can opt out any time by texting STOP to 79041. For help, text HELP to the same number. Message and data rates may apply.

General Email Tips

  • Add our senders to your Contacts.
  • If you find a message in Spam or Junk, open it and click Not spam or Move to Inbox. Do this a couple of times and most filters learn fast.
  • Create a rule or filter that says “Never send to spam” for our addresses and domains.

Provider-Specific Steps

Gmail on the web

  1. Open a message from Oak Grove if you have one, click the three dots, choose Filter messages like these.
  2. Click Create filter, check Never send it to Spam and Always mark it as important if you like, then Create filter.
  3. Add our senders to Contacts: open the message, hover the From address, click More info, choose Add to contacts.

Mobile Gmail app: open the message, tap the three dots, choose Move to Inbox or Not spam. Filters can only be created on the web.

Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, MSN

  1. Go to SettingsMailJunk email.
  2. Under Safe senders and domains, click Add, enter ogschool.org and your BrightArrow domain, then save.
  3. If a message is in Junk Email, open it and click It’s not junk.

Microsoft Outlook app for Windows or Mac

  1. Right-click a message from us, choose JunkNever Block Sender and Never Block Sender’s Domain.
  2. Add to Contacts for good measure.

Yahoo Mail

  1. Open the message, click the three dots, choose Filter emails like this.
  2. Set the filter to match our address or domain, choose Inbox as the folder, save.
  3. If a message is in Spam, open it and click Not spam.

Apple iCloud Mail (web)

  1. Open iCloud Mail, click the gear icon → RulesAdd Rule.
  2. Condition: is from our address or ends with our domain. Action: Move to Inbox and Mark as Not Junk if available.
  3. Add to Contacts in iCloud.

Apple Mail app on iPhone, iPad, Mac

  1. Open a message from us, tap or click the sender, choose Add to VIP and Add to Contacts.
  2. If a message lands in Junk, open it and choose Move to Inbox and confirm it is not junk.

Comcast Xfinity Email

  1. Open SettingsFilter RulesAdd new rule.
  2. Set From contains our address or domain, action Keep or Move to Inbox. Save.
  3. Add our senders to the Address Book.

AOL Mail

  1. Click OptionsMail SettingsFilters and AlertsCreate filter.
  2. From contains our address or domain. Choose Inbox as the destination. Save.
  3. If you find us in Spam, mark as Not Spam.

Still Not Getting Emails?

  • Check Promotions or Other tabs in Gmail and Outlook.
  • Look in quarantine if your work email uses security filters.
  • If you previously unsubscribed, click Resubscribe on a recent Oak Grove email or contact us to re-enable your address.
  • If your email on file is wrong or you changed providers, contact the school office to update your contact info.

Why texting YES to 79041 matters

Texting YES to 79041 tells your carrier you want school text messages. Without this, carriers may block or throttle school texts. It takes seconds and prevents missed urgent alerts.

Quick Test

  1. After you finish the steps above, move any Oak Grove email from Spam to Inbox and add us to Contacts.
  2. Send yourself a test from your personal email to confirm delivery looks normal.
  3. Make sure you have a recent Oak Grove text. If not, text YES to 79041.
