Oak Grove offers a wide range of after-school clubs for students K-8. Most clubs use a single central Google Form for sign-up; a few have their own. Each club's listing has its sign-up link.
Meeting dates below reflect the current (2025-26) school year. Each club's sign-up link has the most up-to-date schedule.

Early Elementary (K-3)
Art Club — Grades 2-3

2nd and 3rd grade alternate weeks. Cap: 25 students per grade, first come first served. Open to any 2nd or 3rd grade student who enjoys making art and would like to explore ideas and materials not covered during art class.
iCook Cooking Classes — Grades K-4

Kids learn to make healthy, delicious recipes while mastering cooking safety, measuring, mixing, dicing, and more.

Build performance skills through fun, interactive activities — create improvised scenes, practice memorization, and play theater games. This year's theme: Greek Myths.

Board Games Club — Grades 5-8

A weekly club for students who enjoy gaming. Bring your own games and socialize with other players — board games, card games, Pokémon, trading (if allowed by parents). No computer games — we're going old school. Specific meeting dates will be posted in October and in the Oak Grove News. See Mr. Picchiotti for additional information.
Chess Club
All grades
For all students wanting to learn how to play chess for fun or for a richer understanding of the game. Serious and competitive players can join the Oak Grove chess team and represent the school at competitions. See the Virtual Backpack for dates, times, and fees.
Spanish Club — Grades 4-8

Open to all 4th-8th grade students interested in Spanish language and culture. Practice Spanish, make cultural crafts, play games, and learn about Spanish-speaking cultures.

Learn or improve skills in coding languages such as Block, JavaScript, and Python — we also explore advanced 3D design if time and interest permit. This is not a gaming club — we're looking for students who want to learn how to program computers creatively and share works in progress with each other.

Drama (Improv) Club — Grades 6-8

Focus is Improv — skill-building games and scenes. A performance for family and friends is held on December 11 at 7:15 PM. 7th and 8th grade members are eligible to become Drama Leaders in March.
Filmmaking / Stop-Motion — Grades 6-8

This year's activities include making crêpes, recreating famous works of art, cheese tasting, learning the French sport of boules, a Mardi Gras party with kings cake and mask-making, French movie watching, scavenger hunting, winter festival, and more. Dates and forms handed out at the first meeting.
JaMUN (Junior Assembly of Model United Nations) — Grades 7-8

For aspiring leaders who want to improve speaking, research, writing, presenting, and diplomacy skills. Play the role of a world leader and collaborate with other middle school students to solve real-world problems in this interactive simulation. A technology service club: help OGS with their technology needs, learn advanced software and use professional equipment, be creative and teach others, troubleshoot technology and adapt quickly. Space is limited to 20 students.
Science Club — Grades 6-8

A few times a month, 3:30-5:00 PM · October through March · Day of week varies by lab activity
Hands-on activities, scientific art projects, and trivia-style competitions to prepare for the YBTCC and National Science Bee Competitions (both optional). Sometimes we need back-to-back meetings. Space is limited to the first 30 students.
