Jina Rappaport joined Oak Grove School in 2007 as the 4-8 librarian and 6th-grade technology teacher. Jina earned her BS in Accounting from Northeastern Illinois University in 1990 and was awarded Magna Cum Laude honors. After taking time off to raise her four children, Jina returned to school and received her master’s in library science in 2007 from Dominican University where she earned the highest honors. She has since earned enough credits for another master’s degree focusing her studies on ways to promote a lifelong love of reading.

While at Oak Grove School, Jina has served as a member of the executive committee of The Oak Grove Education Association, been a member of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, served as the representative for the specials department on the School Leadership Team, and been a member of the attendance committee. Jina was also the long-serving teacher liaison for the PTO. Jina is currently the K-3 librarian and K, 2 STEM teacher.

Jina lives in Deerfield with her husband of nearly 40 years, Bret. They enjoy time with their children and grandchildren. They also love to travel and aim to visit all of the National Parks.
